OAG Organized a Roundtable Conference on 2024 Draft Handing-Over Notes:

The Office of the Administrator-General (OAG) hosted a roundtable conference from September 10-15, 2024, to review the quality assurance teams’ reports on the 2024 draft Handing-Over Notes. The conference aimed to enhance the comprehensiveness, adequacy, reliability, and credibility of the final Handing-Over Notes.

Twenty-two participants, including quality assurance representatives, consultants, and representatives from various government agencies, attended the conference. The participants were grouped into three teams to review the draft Handing-Over Notes submitted by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs), and other agencies.

The conference identified key areas for improvement, including the lack of residential accommodation details for ministers, deputies, and special aides, limited information on administrative and political leadership changes, and insufficient reference to relevant files. The teams also noted that most ministries fully complied with chapters two and three of the guidelines.

The conference produced recommendations to address the identified issues, including finalizing Handing-Over Notes within two weeks, standardizing report formats, and providing directives for compliance. The recommendations aimed to ensure the final Handing-Over Notes meet the necessary quality standards.

The next steps included submitting detailed reports, finalizing Handing-Over Notes incorporating recommendations, and submitting the final document to the Office of the President (OOP) for approval. The conference provided a platform for constructive feedback, ensuring a smooth transfer of power, as outlined in the Presidential (Transition) Act 2012 Act 845.
