     Coordination Services

In conformity with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), the Office of the Administrator-General performs the following coordination services: –

  1. provide guidance and coordination services for the preparation and distribution of Handing-Over Notes by MDAs, MMDAs, RCCs and ICBs through the Presidency. Handing-Over Notes are the critical constitutional document issued by public office holders to provide detailed account of the tenure of public office. As part of the presidential transition processes, the Handing-Over Notes are then made available to the newly elected President, and to;
  • Parliament,
  • the Chief Justice,
  • the Council of State, and
  • the Public Records and Archives Administration Department (PRAAD).
The Administrator-General is also responsible for:
  • preparing a national register covering all the public lands and any other lands vested in the President by the Constitution or any other law and of all other official assets.
  • conducting stock-taking exercises of the official assets in the official residence and in the personal or private residence of the President, Vice-President and of each of the Ministers, before the exit of, and upon the assumption of an elected administration.
  • conducting any other stocktaking exercise to ensure accountability and transparency, and
  • making recommendations to the President in consonance with article 179 of the Constitution, for budgetary allocations for the purposes of the transfer of the reins of Government from one administration to the next administration.
